How to find a great catering company

Do you want to have a successful event? Make sure that you hire the right caterer.

Food plays a major role in most events and you want to make certain that everyone is happy and that all needs are met. Today many have restricted diets so it’s a good idea to ask all your guests about this in advance.

Some important pointers:

1. Don’t wait too long to book the caterer since the most popular ones might be booked months in advance.

2. Read reviews such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook carefully.

3. Check out the catering company’s social media presence, to make sure they have experience and a decent following.

4. Ask your venue for suggestions. Most event venues have a preferred list of catering companies and are familiar with the best local vendors. Many restaurants cater as well. Food trucks are becoming more popular and makes it easy for the customers.

5. Ask the catering company for a detailed description of the food. The more details, the better. You don’t want any surprises on the day of your event.

6. Does the caterer offer a tasting menu? You might have to pay extra, but it will most likely be worth it.

7. Ask the caterer exactly what is included. Serving tables and table cloths? Water and soda? Cups and napkins for drinks? Make sure that all the details are included in the contract.

Also consider this when choosing a catering company:

1. Can they provide a licensed bartending service or do you need to hire that separately?

2. Can they produce rental chairs, tables, cutlery, glasses, plates, etc?
